The engine is disassembled and the overall condition is assessed.
All parts are then hot tanked. The block is bored on precision stand
and torque plate honed using a three step process. The block is
rinsed and washed. The Federal Mogul cam bearings are installed;
the block is shrink wrapped and stored for later assembly.
The factory crankshaft is precision index ground. Speed Pro Hypereutectic
pistons are installed on SCAT stock length “I” beam
connecting rods; pistons include anti-scuff coating on the skirts.
Speed Pro moly piston rings are installed on the pistons. Federal
Mogul aluminum main bearings are installed in the block. The piston/
rod assembly is installed using Federal Mogul connecting rod bearings.
A Competition Cams “Xtreme Energy” cam and adjustable
double roller timing set is installed to complete the rotating assembly;
camshaft degreed-in to cam card.

A Topline hydraulic roller lifer set is installed during assembly.
The engine is assembled using Fel Pro engine gaskets.
The factory cylinder heads are hot tanked and glass beaded. A competition
type valve job is performed; the valve seats are machined with a
4 angle valve job to match the Manley 2.08”/1.60” valves.
The valves are back cut to increase air flow. Finally, the cylinder
heads are resurfaced. The heads are assembled using Comp Cams “Beehive”
valve springs and matching retainers during assembly.
