The Federal Mogul cam bearings and brass core plugs are installed; the block is shrink wrapped and stored for later assembly.

Short Block Assembly:

The crankshaft is precision index ground prior to being spin balanced. Camshaft is degreed-in according to cam card.

Components to complete Assembly:

A Mellings high volume oil pump is installed along with a Moroso bolt-on oil pump pick-up. Topline hydraulic lifers installed. Engine assembled using a Fel Pro full engine gasket set.

Cylinder Heads & Valvetrain:

Pro Comp rectangular port aluminum cylinder heads (320cc intake runners) receive “bowl & chamber” porting. The heads then receive a 4 angle valve job with radius top cut. Manley 2.30”/1.88” valves utilized in the application; valves are back cut to enhance airflow. Manley Teflon valve seals are installed during assembly. Manley valve springs, steel spring retainers installed along with machines 7 degree keepers; spring rates matched to the camshaft. Comp Cams “Pro Magnum” roller rocker arms installed along with Manley rocker arm studs, 3/8” pushrods and Comp Cams pushrod guide plates. The cylinder heads are installed using ARP head bolts.
